Cal-Chlor Corporation was formed in Opelousas, Louisiana in 1982 as a warehouse facility for calcium chloride products serving the oil industry. In 1983, Cal-Chlor constructed a repackaging facility in Opelousas and partnered with Dow Chemical Company as its supplier. In 1996, Cal-Chlor acquired an existing packaging facility in Ludington, Michigan and invested more than $4,000,000 in upgrading the facility which is now the largest calcium chloride packaging facility in the world. In 2005, Cal-Chlor acquired Bound Brook in Piscataway, New Jersey. Cal-Chlor East becomes their third packaging and distribution facility. In 2007, Cal-Chlor opened a new distribution warehouse in Jebel Ali to service the Middle East and Africa. Since its inception, Cal-Chlor sales have increased more than 1,000 percent as a result of concentrating on international oil industry and domestic industrial opportunities.
